My fantastic boyfriend Jay had an interview today, so I had the rare opportunity to spiffy him up. We dressed him in the Theory stretch wool suit we bought him last year (one of his only two suits), which he wore for the second time ever. Under it he wore his Prada white stretch cotton shirt (pricey, but a great investment, perfect fit) and a simple J. Crew tie that we picked up on a recent trip to the outlet. He looked so good he got the job, now he just has to put in his notice…

Designers for Obama
September 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment
With presidential voting coming up in about five weeks, everyone has their mind on politics, apparently including fashion designers.
Designers like Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Tory Burch, Nanette Lepore, Rachel Roy, Derek Lam, and Diane von Furstenberg have designed some great merchandise for Obama’s official online store.
I wonder if any designers are supporting McCain these days…

Birthday
September 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Today is my birthday. At 37 weeks pregnant, I’m not exactly in the greatest position for celebration, comfort wise. We had a small dinner party with friends to celebrate, I haven’t seen some of them since the shower, so it was fun and since there was a lot to talk about, we stayed up until the wee hours talking. I do miss nights like that. Living with your parents again has some downers.
I told everyone not to get me anything, and to spend the money on their gift for the baby shower last month instead. Judging from all the things we got, I’d say that was a mighty fine choice. Cheesy as it sounds, seeing everyone and catching up on the last few weeks was a great gift in itself. Besides, with what’s coming in a few weeks, what could I get that could even compare, gift seem trivial next to a real live human.
