When I was younger, I feared high heels. There should be a name for the disease I had- heelophobia. Now that I’m older and more balanced, I love the chance to wear high heels, even the dangerously high. I’m not sure I need another pair of black pumps, but these are divine if you ask me.

With less than a week before the big day, you can personalize your tee according to what speaks to you this election. Pick up the Vote T ($15) and tell everyone what you’re voting for, or keep it a mystery.

Sneakers Fall 08 by theshopportunist
Jay is a shoe man. He has about as many shoes as I do and that’s saying something. Actually he has about the same size wardrobe as I do so you can imagine how much we compete for closet space. For some reason beyond my knowledge, Jay can sometimes go for the most ridiculously colored shoes I’ve seen. I’m talking patent leather red navy and baby blue, or patent pink hot pink, and purple. It’s so strange for me because in every other department he’s usually so spot-on. I actually like shopping with him because he usually gives me really great opinions but when it comes to his shoes sometimes I’m speechless and even helpless. He says it’s because he like the shoes that nobody else has, so in an effort to get him to steer away from that neon green and purple pair he’s eyeing I try to find him some unique pairs that won’t make him look childish.

Forever 21 Women’s Looks by theshopportunist
Its great to know that even though the economy has seen better days, its good to know there are some places you can find great clothes without putting yourself in the poor house. Stores like H&M and Forever 21 give us the opportunity to keep shopping in difficult times.
I’m loving the shop by outfit featured on forever21.com, and I love that they’re featuring both women’s and men’s looks. I would totally wear many of them, and I’d make Jay wear them too.

Hyden Yoo Chelsea Sweater $248 @ OAK
If there’s anything I love almost as much as shopping for myself, it’s shopping for Jay, especially when it’s for a cozy sweater. I definitely look forward to cozying up next to him in this cashmere cardigan.

I’ve found so many great things on etsy since I discovered it about a year ago. I especially love shopping at etsy because of the original and sometimes one-of-a-kind designs and also because it feels good to know that I’m supporting an indie artist. This piece is by An Original Jewelry, it’s called the Silver Piece Dove Necklace and it’s $44.

I’ve never been able to bring myself to buy a leather jacket before. I don’t particularly like them, but I have seen a few that I’m tempted to buy, but don’t due the their material. Jay is quick to point out how weird I am that I’ll shell out hundreds for a leather Marc Jacobs handbag, but won’t get a jacket that cost’s half as much because it’s made out of dead animal. This is rather contradicting of me, but I justify it by saying that you carry a handbag and wear a jacket.

With presidential voting coming up in about five weeks, everyone has their mind on politics, apparently including fashion designers.
Designers like Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Tory Burch, Nanette Lepore, Rachel Roy, Derek Lam, and Diane von Furstenberg have designed some great merchandise for Obama’s official online store.
I wonder if any designers are supporting McCain these days…
