Stylin’ Little One

December 2, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Ever since I found out my little bundle would be female at my ultrasound, I’ve been looking forward to dressing her. She’s still a bundle, so I’m limited in my selections for her wardrobe, but let me tell you, she has the most stylish onesies and socks on the block. I simply can’t wait until I can dress her like this stylish little one…

With less than a week before the big day, you can personalize your tee according to what speaks to you this election. Pick up the Vote T ($15) and tell everyone what you’re voting for, or keep it a mystery.

DVF Fall 2008 RTW

October 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Diane von Furstenberg’s Fall 2008 RTW collection was one of my favorites of the season, I love the 1940’s feel of this look. While waiting for my little bundle to finally make her appearance, I’ve been trying to distract myself with the excitement of getting by old body back. I miss being able to wear my clothes, I miss being able to shop for clothing not in the maternity section.

Forever 21 Women’s Looks by theshopportunist

Its great to know that even though the economy has seen better days, its good to know there are some places you can find great clothes without putting yourself in the poor house. Stores like H&M and Forever 21 give us the opportunity to keep shopping in difficult times.

I’m loving the shop by outfit featured on forever21.com, and I love that they’re featuring both women’s and men’s looks. I would totally wear many of them, and I’d make Jay wear them too.

Hyden Yoo Chelsea Sweater $248 @ OAK

If there’s anything I love almost as much as shopping for myself, it’s shopping for Jay, especially when it’s for a cozy sweater. I definitely look forward to cozying up next to him in this cashmere cardigan.

Etsy Find: Silver Peace Dove Necklace

October 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’ve found so many great things on etsy since I discovered it about a year ago. I especially love shopping at etsy because of the original and sometimes one-of-a-kind designs and also because it feels good to know that I’m supporting an indie artist. This piece is by An Original Jewelry, it’s called the Silver Piece Dove Necklace and it’s $44.

I want: Converse by John Varvatos Edwardian Corded Jacket

October 3, 2008 · Leave a Comment

$795 @ 80’sPurple

I’ve never been able to bring myself to buy a leather jacket before. I don’t particularly like them, but I have seen a few that I’m tempted to buy, but don’t due the their material. Jay is quick to point out how weird I am that I’ll shell out hundreds for a leather Marc Jacobs handbag, but won’t get a jacket that cost’s half as much because it’s made out of dead animal. This is rather contradicting of me, but I justify it by saying that you carry a handbag and wear a jacket.

Jay’s Interview

September 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

My fantastic boyfriend Jay had an interview today, so I had the rare opportunity to spiffy him up. We dressed him in the Theory stretch wool suit we bought him last year (one of his only two suits), which he wore for the second time ever. Under it he wore his Prada white stretch cotton shirt (pricey, but a great investment, perfect fit) and a simple J. Crew tie that we picked up on a recent trip to the outlet. He looked so good he got the job, now he just has to put in his notice…

Designers for Obama

September 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

With presidential voting coming up in about five weeks, everyone has their mind on politics, apparently including fashion designers.

Designers like Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Tory Burch, Nanette Lepore, Rachel Roy, Derek Lam, and Diane von Furstenberg have designed some great merchandise for Obama’s official online store

I wonder if any designers are supporting McCain these days…
